Copper wire theft has become epidemic across the nation. Recently, Sheriff's Deputies in Houston County, Georgia arrested a 19 year-old man following three months of investigation into thefts of copper wire and damage to farmers' pivot irrigation systems. The Monitor's Rick Treptow reports law enforcement, farm groups and recyclers say it is a problem as serious as a drought or any other crop disaster.
