@rhysizhere1 rats are NOT dirty animals. They are probably cleaner than you. Probably smarter as well.

Did u know u can't make like big noises or touch them cuz they'll try to protect them so they eat them that's what mine did but mine will have them in five weeks

@MrBigoj If rats protected their babies by EATING them, they'd have gone extinct a long time ago! Whoever told you that should not be giving rat advice. Rats eat their litter for a few reasons, but no matter what the reason, it is always a LAST RESORT. That means, they will eat their stillborn babies to keep the nest clean, if she is not getting a nutritious enough diet to produce milk, or if she is simply not a good enough mom and the babies start suffering because of it.

Rats *may* eat their babies if their nest is disturbed. Domestic rats are less prone to that since they are, well, domesticated. But they seem to prefer to eat them to having a predator invade. - Registered Veterinary Technician

@MrBigoj The reason why people say to leave them alone is not because they are worried she won't care for them or eat them, but the stress of having someone there messing with their babies can hurt her health, and the babies' trust in humans in the future. But that's IF the rat can't handle human attention or is VERY hormonal during pregnancy/birthing. Of course, I give my rats their distance, but they will lick me as they're giving birth if I need to be in their nest.

why do u like these dirty animals?

@rhysizhere1 Despite their reputation as dirty animals, rats are extremely clean. They bath themselves very frequently, much like a cat does. They also prefer to keep their cage as clean as possible. A healthy rat will .... reserve a specific area of their cage for these functions. In fact, this instinctive behavior can work to your advantage if you provide a litter box, which makes cage cleaning easier.
