I love apple, but one thing borrows me: for the price of a macbook , you get a laptop (running windows) which ihas much more performance. So i love everything of the mac, etc... But the windows laptop can do much more things, but doesnt have a nice design. I dont know what to chose

please someone HELP!? im thinking of getting either the 13" macbook pro or the 21.5" iMac (both entry level models) which one should i get? they are both the same price but with the iMac you get so much more! im going to use it for web browsing, writing up essays, a small amount of gaming and downloading movies/ music etc. all ive ever had was a laptop so i dont know how i would take to the change. please someone help me! thank you so much for taking the time to read this :)
