  • @marioware2 While I don't find the piece to be something I'm fond of, "sound[ing] good" is a subjective thing.

It most likely sounds "good" to the composer, possibly the performers, and probably some of the listeners.

I'm surprised you're even listening to music like this if you don't understand this simple fact.

  • @perdixification what's the point of writing music, though, if it doesn't sound good? Maybe if it wasn't built to play microtonally then it shouldn't be playing microtonally. I'm happy these guys can play microtonally but it sounds awful.

  • @jccrock1212: see reply to marioware2. Don't embarrass yourself by writing bass clarinet and contrabass clarinet with capital letters, they're not proper nouns, contrabass is one word, and 'sum over histories' is not a song.

  • @marioware2: if you take the time to listen to this composition properly, and use your brain while doing that, you might hear for example the work's structure or the use of mircotonality for instruments certainly not built to play microtonally.

  • Chris Dench, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. This piece of crap work makes these two most likely very skilled players sound like tone-deaf amateurs. This song sounds absolutely like random notes on the page and is literally making me cringe in pain. This piece of music is the worst thing I have ever heard played.

  • This song is truly awful....it lacks any sort of composition skill and honestly is an embarrassment to the Bass Clarinet and Contra Bass Clarinet. I imagine the players are in some way talented, but that's no excuse for how terrible this "song" really is.
