  • THIS SURGERY IS SIMPLE.... I JUS GOT MINE OUT AND I FEEL PERFECTLY FINE.. I JUS WANT TO NO WAT ARE THE OUT COMES OF ME HAVING THEM TAKEN OUT! IT WAT I WANT TO NO....

  • It's hard to believe that we are still taking people's tonsils and adenoids out. We need them - they serve a purpose.

  • @danmang92 Smoking slows the healing process and can cause infection.

In very rare cases, people have died from it.

Smoking can cause the cauterized areas to start bleeding again.

Doctors are legally bound to tell you not to smoke atleast 3 weeks.

If u can hold out 3 weeks your body no longer requires it.

If it gets infected it will take months to recover and may require more sugery to stemm the infection.

Alcohol can clean the wound, but can also cause scabbing to release undoing cauteriziation

  • Never had surgery before. T-T... This is going to happen to me pretty soon, and I donnn't like it. Especially the anesthesia, what if I say something rediculous? Plus I have slight aichmophobia, blaaah. Dx I guess there's been worse in the world. 3:

  • @CutieTheGP

    fuck off "seek help".

    pfft.

  • I had mine out a year ago. I'm not gonna lie, it is an extremely painful recovery and you will get worse before you get better. But it's so worth it because then you can't get an infection there again once it has healed.

PS. I would think twice about the 'eat ice cream' myth, it stung my throat and left a thick film in my throat that was really painful to swallow!!

  • @danmang92 please for your sake, don't smoke and drink, even though I don't know you, I still care for your health. Please seek help.

  • @danmang92 my doctor said that its not recommended to start doing it in 2 weeks but he said that however u feel like, if u wanna drink then get some vodka because it actually cleans your throat and doesent hurt as much i was dumb and tried some whiskey and it was so fucking painful either way i dont recommend drinking and smoking in atleast 3 weeks

  • if you get your tonsils removed when can you drink and smoke again after?

  • i had my tonsils shrinked and my adenoids taken out. IT WAS FUN! I got to get blacked out by anesthesia, and after i left the hospital, i went home and BAM, i went to sleep so fast! and throughtout the week i got to eat icecream, smoothies, and lukewarm mashed pataters!( yes i spelled it pataters rather than potatoes. thats just how i like it.

except it hurt like hell, for real! it hurt so bad i cried, but then crying made it worse................. but yea! it was superrrrrrrrrrr fun! seriously
