what exacly are your "etc" applications? i'm asking because i can hardly imagine rendering those flashy lightings in blender and i can't add those in virtualdub myself...

The graffiti over the top in white is lots of still images of actual tags from Swindon, and using an lighten overlay. And the Soft yellow lights that move around in the back are people dancing in a club that i've put through effects in Virtual dub so that the light areas of the video turn into a wax-lamp style blobs, these are overlayed in addative mode. Then the arrows are just a straight 3D render.
