The choice to use Cannabis is a matter of Liberty. Liberty is the unobstructed right of the individual to do as they will so long as ones actions are not a violation of the equal rights of another.
So, why is Cannabis illegal? If it's use and production is a mater of Liberty, then isn't the prohibition itself illegal?
I agree, it's not being regulated properly. It should be the end of prohibition right now. But, just like everything else in politics, it's all about baby steps. Also, it seems like the government is terrified that it's going to lose all control of the masses if it concedes a minor privelege rather than using it as a way to convert the masses to allies rather than enemies. Ending prohibition would also allow us to move on to more pressing issues.
