The values you are teaching your children sound like the 10 commandments. the Church does not believe in Hell. You mention 'Going to Hell'. It Would be Really hard Growing up as a child in the Church. As an adult, I chose to go-still do. If my parents would have Forced me as a child, I would feel the same as you. The cult definition you use could apply to Jesus and his followers also. I think the Catholic Church is the Largest cult. Have a Good day man.

Even worse God is no longer the judge but instead the legalistic leadership or Sir Pastor… This is also why you have some many different Christian denominations because many people don’t seek God they seek someone’s opinion of God…. It is important that you accept the finished work of Christ on the cross and remember Psalms 119.105 the word is a light to my path… It is only thru the Holy Spirit and the word that you will find your path……

My parents were caught up in the World wide cult and I have two sisters that are still in an offshoot of the cult… Ones husband is even gradated Ambassador College… One of the problems with cults like this is that you’re taught that by keeping the Law you somehow earn favoritism from God…… Unfortunately that leads to a very legalistic atmosphere with people being put out of the church for minor infractions…

You still feel werid when you eat pork? Not me! When I found out that I was no longer bound to the clean and unclean laws, I took to pork, ham, sausage, and seafood faster than your head could spin! But then, I'm from the South! And I praised God for the freedom to enjoy it!

I decided to see what people thought about this church on YouTube and it follows what I have heard from other past members... they complain about tithes and these sort of things, not eating lobster... If we decide that we have been so wronged by being "extra righteous" as if there is such a thing... Why believe God does not exist? Is He mad that we did extra...it about the heart that gave and sacrificed. Many are now bitter, which does no service going forward. God Bless you my friend. Peace.

WWCG was just as bad in Canada in the 80's and the start of the 90's. Living in a cult teaches you to see the bullshit in all religions.

Yah I agree, people learn values on their own. I guess the WCG today is the garden variety Satan- vegetarian.
Some atheists have stronger morals, convictions and values than Christians. You Christians should admit it, your a bunch of hypocrites.
I understand that you are upset by your upbringing and religion in general, and I am sure that you won't care, but aside from extra rules and not being able to buy your way into heaven the WWCG was no different than the Catholic church. You have to be in good/ following the rules or you are excommunicated.... (leavening to the body of Christ). Also the leaders are somehow your reps to God and they have truth. I grew up the same way... and took some time off as well. But I can't blame God.

@mooner1111 No apology necessary, thanks for you comment. It goes a lot deeper then tithing or not eating lobster for me. I have many reasons for being angry at organized religion. I came to being an agnostic/ atheist threw a long journey that began many years ago.
