88 trans am GTA open headers

Car has been sitting for 6 years but just put in a new 350 sbc with ported and shaved 64 cc center bolt heads, roller rockers and timing chain, .500 lift comp cam, headers, edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carb. Also installed a tremec T56 six speed trans. I still have a long way to go with new seats, interior and a paint job on the way. The hood on this car is off a 90 model firebird V6 that had a custom body upgrade from the dealer (hints the bird that is all rusty now).

Nice bird! I've got an 88 myself with the shitty 305 TPI, thinking about doing a swap for a carbureated engine myself. How hard was it to install the tranny? Always wanted a standard but had to settle for an automatic.(And sorry for the user name, Made it a long time ago never changed it haha)

@5000assmaster Tranny wasn't too bad to install other than the torque arm that runs from the rearend and hooks to the tranny. I had to fabricate a bracket for that. I bought an aftermarket transmission mount which made things easy. The previous was only nessasary since I istalled a 6 speed rather than a 5 speed which came out in these cars. Other than that it was just a matter of hanging petels and cutting a hole in the floor.

Nice Project...i bought an 87 GTA 5.7, It sat for about six years all stock. $1200 stll cant belive it

I actually bought this car out of a junk yard for $900 dollars and drove it away with the stock tuned prt injection. I blew it up 6 years ago and am just now getting it going agian. I have flowmaster exhaust on it now, will have to up load a clip of it sometime.
