Can you buy me one please? PLEASE?!

Such a great sound. Plus I love your playing.

Troll! You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Perhaps someone at your skill level and with your musical ear thinks you get "more bang for your buck" off of keyboards that aren't even on the same level as the Nord 88, but to then voice your opinion in a rude and arrogant way is unnecessary. Everyone has their own opinions on what is best, and I know what Asher can do on the keys -- and I appreciate his in-depth review of this instrument.

@apelsinljuice I am also curious about the song which starts at 4:40
Do you know what it is? Very nice sound and playing style ;)
Thank you for that

You sound like a salesman.
Are you reading a script?

Thanks for that, Asher. I have a Korg Kronos 88 and love the German D piano it utilizes. I'm also looking for the new new Nord Stage Piano 2 88 and tried one out today at the local music store... awesome piano and much better keyboard action than the Kronos. Piano sounds are close, but I think having the combination of both is killer!

that black upright sound is what i have been looking for in a digital piano for years. closest thing i have heard to a real piano ever.

@chilldave73 Your comments give me pause as well. Perhaps I could tolerate the noisy keyboard so long as it does a great job replicating the regulation of an actual keyboard - preferably a Steinway. As a trained classical pianist - maintaining my technique with an accurate weighted keyboard, again, on the stiff side preferably, is my goal. Does the Nord Piano 88 deliver?

I am currently trying out a Nord piano at home and truly love the sounds...but I have a few gripes which are holding me back from purchasing it. First is the ridiculously noisy keybed. It is so irritating that I find I MUST play with closed headphones all the time to mask the sound. Hmm. Secondly, I do not understand why a $3000 instrument is equipped with so little memory. 500mb? If I want to have the (amazing) Bosendorfer sample I have to dump nearly all my other favourite sounds from the unit
"notch above the rest" do u even know "the rest" you are speaking of ? Pardon me for beeing not as nord fanboyish as you, but i can think of at least 10 keybaords with better sounds and stage features, and i dont only mean "newest" ones like korg Kronos or Roland jupiter . . .even the old Yamaha Motif have better pianos ALSO giving you "more bang for your buck". Even the a lot cheaper ^ Korg Pa588 have greater piano sounds. U should rethink ur investment or at least check other producers. . .

@eVerlastingTenrai Indeed I know the rest very well, clearly you haven't done your research on me or you'd know that. Implying I'm a fanboy confirms you have no idea what you're talking about.
I'd be very curious to hear you name 10 keyboards with higher quality piano sounds than the Nord Piano. Keep in mind that if they don't have String Resonance (emulating the resonance of the unplayed strings from the ringing of the played strings in real time) then they're not even in the same league.

@eVerlastingTenrai The same goes for Pedal Noise and multiple pianos all sampled at high levels of velocity layers. Without that they don't even compare.
Also: Kronos and Jupiter are synthesizers, not acoustic piano emulators. Motif and Pa588 are workstations, not acoustic piano emulators. None of those are even within the same product category.

@eVerlastingTenrai Further, I question your need to post those opinions publicly on the page for this video. Hopefully in the future you'll have the common courtesy to keep your opinions on your own pages and videos. Best of luck in all your endeavors.

@apelsinljuice Thank you so much! That's an as-yet untitled piece from my forthcoming 2nd piano album... wrote it a few years back but this will be the first time it's been recorded. Looking to have it out at the top of 2012. Thanks for the kind words!!
