  • The translators acknowleged they had a multitude of sources to compare from. The Bible had been already translated into nearly every major European tongue from the Majority Text BEFORE the KJV was ever printed. It is a known fact that several of 47-54 translators spoke fluent European tongues plus were fluent in the Hebrew and Greek. Where was God's preserved Words before 1611? They were found in at least 16 different languages before it came into the English, from the same Majority Text.

  • The translators themselves acknowleged that they had a multitude of sources to compare from. • The only bible that was inspired was what came from the hands of the biblical authors; all else are uninspired COPIES of said work.

  • The literacy rate in New England was never 100%. It was quite high in the early days of Plymouth Colony, but only because the total population was small and drawn from a highly literate section of the British population.

  • So the God of Heaven and earth was so dumb that He didn't understand that the number 1 language in the world would be ENGLISH So He expects man to study and learn Greek and Hebrew, so that He can read copies of copies of the "originals" that God preserved but couldn't preserve their inspiration? I Don't Think So!

  • @YETISEARCHER7 Something interesting you might want to look into is Jack Hyles last sermon he ever preached, called, "How we got Gods words." About a fourth of the way threw the sermon he says that if anyone at Hyles ever says we don't have a perfect English translation of the bible will be shipped home. I believe this would include his son in law, Jack Schaap

  • @YETISEARCHER7 Actually, Dr. Jack schaap called people who call the KJV inspired foolish and ignorant. He also said that if you are a pastor and don't learn Greek you are ignorant. So its not all on the KJV lovers, it is also on the KJV critics.

Its on both sides, Jack Schaap isn't as innocent as he makes himself out to be, in fact he wrote a pretty hating latter to Pastor Micky Carter. But at pastor school he told us all he has never written such letters to anyone.

  • May I ask why the KJV only folks denigrate and call people names? Idiot! Satan! Bible hater... have you not read your own Bible? Did our Master teach us to call names? Both sides of this controversy are guilty! Did Jesus not warn us about calling men fools? Did James not warn us to not use bitter water and sweet? Is this the Spirit of Christ or the spirit of the world?? You shall know a tree by its fruit and what is in a man's heart will come out his mouth! God help us all!

  • When he Pastor Schaap says mistakes andr errors he is not referring to theology, he is talking about spelling, punctiation, etc. Errors common to the printing presses of that era.

  • Even though the Angalins are not Scriptural; the KJV translators did have a high respect for God's Word (something Schaap obviously lacks).

The 47 plus KJV translators were probably the greatest team of linguistic scholars ever assembled on earth.

They began their work in 1604 and finished it in 1611.

The text from the original tongues was translated and compared with 6 previous English versions. Then it was checked an additional 5 times, and had 2 additional final checks.
