Japan FM: East China Sea agreement benefits both sides

The Japanese Foreign Ministry says the political agreement with China on the East China Sea issue is a mutually beneficial pact that will serve the interests of both sides.
Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura made the remarks in Tokyo on Wednesday. He said the agreement is the first step toward the implementation of the consensus reached by the leaders of the two nations to turn the East China Sea into a sea of peace, cooperation and friendship.
Japan's Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, Akira Amari, said China and Japan will make preparations for co-exploiting offshore oil resources on the basis of mutual trust.
