Chapter 4.
Secrets

Some people hide their thoughts, their feelings. Others show them to the world. Some people hide their every desire, because if they got exposed and then destroyed, it would hurt even more. Hiding brings comfort and security. It can also be the biggest mistake of your life. You choose.

We weren't big on going public. We thought that it would just be easier if we kept everything to ourselves. We didn't even need to discuss it. It was just a gut feeling that we shared. So our romantic lives consisted of hiding, escaping, keeping secrets and sneaking around. It felt so exciting.

We would hold hands under our desks in class. When the bell rang, we would wait until everyone was out of the locker room to quickly kiss each other and go our separate ways. At lunch time, we both said we were going home, only to meet up in the park and stay together.

But even when you try really hard, there isn't much you can do to hide feelings that are so strong. People talk. Were in high school, so its obvious nothing stays a secret for a very long time. It came to the point where even our teachers asked us questions about our relationship. I mean, what the hell?

I'm getting ahead of myself now. I said in the beginning of this that our story was made of little bits and pieces. Events that could seem boring or plain, but to us, to me anyways, meant everything. I'll share those moments with you in the following chapters. Know that they are part of me, my history and by sharing them with you, I'm also sharing a part of my soul. Make good use of them. Learn of my mistakes. Or there is no point in this at all.

Thats the only thing I have left to hang on too. The thought that what happened to us can prevent other people to go through the same thing.

Like that it has a point, and it wasn't just for nothing that I lost him.
