Briana Evigan: Star of "Step Up 2 The Streets" to raise funds for inner city kids and their aspirations

"I Don't Think When I Dance" is the name of an exciting new video project from film star Briana Evigan and director Sammy Smith. The music video involves underprivileged kids from South Central Los Angeles who met Evigan when she taught at their special dance classes. Through sales of the recently completed video, which stars many of these same kids, Evigan and Smith hope to raise money and donate a portion of the proceeds to two organizations dedicated to the advancement and betterment of young kids in the U.S. -- The Urban Entertainment Institute (www.urbanent.org) and Oprah's Angel Network (www.oprahsangelnetwork.org).

In 2005, Evigan played a "wannabe actress" in Sammy Smith's "Something Sweet" music video for Jason Evigan, Briana's brother (their father is television actor Greg Evigan, from "BJ and the Bear" and "My Two Dads"). Although she played a supporting role, Briana caught the attention of Smith. Following the shoot, Smith visited Briana's dance class in South Central where she taught as part of a charity program through UEI. UEI gives teens and young adults practical and working knowledge and training in all areas of the entertainment industry.

Sammy was inspired by Briana's interaction with the children, her superior dance skills and how she was consumed with assisting them to achieve their goals. For the new video, Briana and Jason wrote the lyrics and Briana choreographed the dance moves. Smith wrote the treatment and then produced, directed and edited the piece to completion. Briana and Smith agreed to promote and sell "I Don't Think When I Dance" with a portion of the proceeds going to UEI and the Angel Network.
