@OriginalSmohrman just playing it isnt doing it justice. The way Steve plays it, i havent heard neone else play it the same. They just get thru the notes like a robot.

I know, but as a guy in this thread said, people are bashing this for not being hard enough. Silly shit.

@RainWiLLIDie to be fair, this song IS pretty hard. Its not the hardest song ever but still, its certainly not easy.

I"m so sick of reading comments from people about a song's difficulty. Who cares? If the difficulty is a product of great song writing so be it, if it's difficulty simply to please some egoic need to play "better" than other people that is just stupid. I doubt anyone listens to music because it sounds "difficult." This sounds awesome and true.
My comment wasn't directed at anyone in particular.

This is easy to play, but it's a pain in the ass to learn by ear.

fue una de las primeras canciones que toqué en guitarra eletrica, solo haciendo una voz [metal cover xD]. ahora intentaré dominar la tecnica de guitarra clasica.

Interesting how he mostly only plays with his index finger and thumb on the right hand. Seems like it would be harder than just using more fingers, but obviously he knows what hes doing.

As a non-guitarist, I watch and listen to this in awe. The only way I will ever be able to play this is on my CD player !

Thumbs up if your under 15 and can play this song!

I did the same exact thing. Although my kids don't play an instrument, they still listen to the same music I do and did. Yes, King Crimson (my youngest used to call them King Grimson, ah the good olde days).
Also, to the people who think Mood For A Day is "easy" those who learned it in the '70's had to use a record player. That's right, A RECORD PLAYER!! No cassette player with reverse cue, no Youtube and most importantly NO TABS!!! So let's just have a little respect for that, OK?

'Tis very cool to read comments from dads who have played this for their kids as "comfort" music. I learned this piece in the mid '70's (when I was about 15), and when my son was born in 1989, I played it regularly for him. He now knows the song, too (and he passed me up in guitar playing ability a while ago!), and is playing it for his first child now. I imagine Steve Howe enjoys knowing his music is getting passed down from generation to generation.

A lot of comments are ragging on how this song isn't that difficult to play- and maybe that's true- I've learned it well enough to get through it OK, but the point isn't that it's all that hard. Steve Howe doesn't read music, is completely self-taught, and yet could write this nice piece- that's what amazes me about it. Performing someone else's music isn't tough. Writing something this nice is.
