The Indian Air Force (IAF; Devanāgarī: भारतीय वायु सेना, Bhartiya Vāyu Senā) is the air arm of the armed forces of India. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. Since independence, the IAF has been involved in four wars with neighboring Pakistan and one with the People's Republic of China. Other major operations undertaken by the IAF include Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot and Operation Cactus. Apart from conflicts, the IAF has been an active participant in United Nations peacekeeping missions. However, IAF's best war performance till date is OPERATION SAFED SAGAR against Pakistan Army in KARGIL.

With strength of 170,000 personnel and 1,700 aircraft, including 852 combat aircraft in active service, the Indian Air Force is the world's fourth largest. However, in terms of valour, IAF is indeed one of the best in the world, and has repeatedly proved it not only in wars, but also in joint war practices with air forces of other countries like UK, USA, Russia, Sweden, Germany, France, South Korea, South Africa, Singapore, etc.

  • @OurThoughtExactly, haha..haha...why it is my nightmare, i know coward dogs bark louder but at the end nothing actually happen. Ya i accept that in every war between india n pakistan, India had won the war. But why don't u mention the war between India N China dude. China kick indian ass hardly may be indian hardly forget that moment in indian hestory of war..heehehe..

  • @hempalable why do u keep on ranting about China?? don't u have the guts to stand on ur own?? can't u stand on ur own feeet, without using ur clutches - China/USA/North Korea, etc... R u such a failed state that has lost all its identity in the international socviety?? r u such a slave that is entirely dependent on its official masters - USA, China for everything??

As far as China is concerned, go and ask them, why did they fail to capture arunachal in 1968 , and sikkim in 1982 skirmishes??

  • @gaurav448 India's air force is just filled with a bunch of outdated Soviet fighters with India's flag painted on the side. U.S Air Force is superior to anything in the world....

  • @ThePikester7 Outdated!!! FYI, Russia is unmatched in aerospace engineering. For u, the concept of THRUST VECTORING is in the pilot stage whereas, Russia has already mastered this technology.

Also, look at the comments given by USAF during the Red Flag Exercise in 2008, where Indian air force participated for the first time and outplayed all other participants. USAF itself admitted that Sukhoi 30 MKI is the best 4.5 gen. aircraft in the world, & IAF, one of the most feared air forces on earth

  • @hempalable Next time, while mentioning about China, mention not only 1962 war, (which we lost bcoz of Nehru's foolishness), but also mention the skirmishes of 1968 and 1987, where China attempted twice against us, but failed miserably and had to retreat. The fact is, this is not 1962 anymore. Even China knows it very well that if it dares to attempt any misadventure/war against India this time, it will suffer serious consequences, which might well be as serious as 'LIBERATION OF TIBET'.

  • @baburo101 India stinks due to the presence of world's largest shithole in its neighborhood - pakistan - a beggar, failed, terrorist nation

  • @baburo101 read the kerry-lugar bill to see how pakistan has officially sold itself completely to USA, to get 3 times more funds for ur beggar, terrorist, faileld nation. So now, pakistan is the first country on earth to officially become an 'INTERNATIONAL BEGGAR' by means of this bill. So, officially, USA is ur master, along with China, and u r slaves of USA and whores of China

  • hmmm haaaaaaaaaaa abey gonchu china ka darr Indians ko mat dikha tu id festival banata hoga kya kartey hain usmey roza rakhtey hain chand ko dekhte hain gaale miltey hoon koi galey miltey hue koi tumhare gardun hee kat de tho tu usse bahadur samajta hai ab bol

  • ok lets face fats here, 80% of india's military equipment is far outdated. so there you go, india is'nt exactly that feared

  • @gaurav448 yes, russias technology not indias. you may be one of the feared airforces, but in reality you're an extension of russian enterprise and force. you might as well paint a hidden red star beside your flag because your airforce is almost all russian technology. so don't go taking credit for something that wasn't yours to begin with.

  • In your video you have some great photos but also some mistakes. If you look with some attention you'll see that when you refer to the MiG-29, the 9th photo (underside of a plane) it's a Su-30. When it comes to the Mirage 2000, the 1st photo is of a Mirage F1 and the 5th is of a Rafale (IAF don't have Rafales). In the case of Su-30 you have at least 3 photos of aircraft in Russian markings.
