Babe Ruth - We People Darker Than Blue [1975] Live

Después de muchos años buscando este concierto por fin tengo en mis manos este DVD de esta gran banda realizado en Canadá en 1975, una auténtica rareza del cual pondré algunos temas espero que lo disfruten tanto como yo.

Babe Ruth se formó en 1971 en Hertfordshire, Inglaterra, con Janita "Jenny" Haan (voz), Alan Shacklock (guitarra) y Dave Hewitt (bajo). Dave Punshon (pianista) y Dick Powell (bateria) se unieron al grupo un poco antes del lanzamiento de su single, "Elusive". Editan su primer larga duración en 1972 titulado "First Base". Con este disco consiguen más reputación en EEUU y Canadá (donde es disco de oro) que en su país de origen. Para la grabación de su siguiente disco, "Amar Caballero" (1973), Ed Spevock sustituye a Powell en la batería. En la grabación de su tercer disco, "Babe Ruth" (1975), también hay un cambio en la formación, Steve Gurl (ex-Wild Turkey) sustituye a Punshon. El cambio de formación más importante fue, no obstante, la salida de Shacklock antes de grabar su cuarto disco, "Stealin' Home" (1975). Su sustituto, Brenie Marsden. Y cuando parecía que finalmente este disco les podría colocar en sitio (es decir, entre los grandes de su país) sorprendentemente abandonan la nave los dos miembros fundadores que quedaban, Haan y Hewitt. Aunque se llegó a grabar un último álbum bajo el nombre de Babe Ruth (entraron en el grupo Ellie Hope, voz, y Ray Knott, bajo), "Kid's Stuff" (1976), la banda desaparece meses después del lanzamiento.

Gracias por los comentarios, el año 1975 sacaron dos discos que los puedes encontrar en un cd llamado Babe Ruth/Stealing Home, en ese disco sale la versión de estudio. Un saludo!!!!!

I typed in Babe Ruth not really expecting anything more than baseball and was glad to see the band make it on to Youtube. I bought this album around 1975 or 76' and have never heard it anywhere else, which I always thought was a shame because of their obvious talent. I've never heard the original Curtis Mayfield version of this song but this one always gives me chills. The For a Few Dollars More instumental is also worth checking out.. Happy to hear from you again Babe Ruth!
