The Birdhouse - Design It Shelter Competition Entry

This video is an animation of The Birdhouse, my design for the Guggenheim and Sketchup Design it Shelter Competition.

The Birdhouse will be built out of rammed earth and wood, and can be occupied in summer and winter. The primary materials will be sourced from the surrounding region. The earth in the area is high in granite content, ideal for rammed earth. Wood is also plentiful.

The site is located on Lake Memphremagog, Vermont, USA. The building is sited to take advantage of the lake views, and sunsets.
