I don't believe it. I don't believe that there are only 55 hypocrites in the Republican Conference in the House of Representatives. That number is way too small.

A single payer system would a great change from the present system. (It still would not destroy private insurance co's, because it has not done so in Canada or other countries with a single payer system.)
One possible negative effect of Weiner's logical support of a single payer system, however, is that some who fear "government takeover" will think that the public option is a single payer system or like Medicare. it's not. It's just an optional insurance plan, funded by premiums.
