@dathip yes, it was customary for all Celts to observe Samhein as it was the most significant of all holy days. It wasn't until the pagan inquisition and the spreading of Christianity that Church missionaries attempted to change the observance to All Saints Day, which is celebrated the eve before to eve the following day, which is how we get Halloween (Hallow's Eve).

@BoyintheMachine 'Halloween' or Samhein, is one of 8 sabbaths. It is said that Druids were the first to celebrate this holy day and was later adopted by the Greeks and finally the Romans who celebrated their own 'All Hallows Eve,' the night before 'All Saints Day.' Samhein is a departure of the Summer Solstice, a temporary farewell to the male-god-sun. Ancestors were a part of daily life, especially sabbats, in which was the day it was said their communications were at their clearest.

@BoyintheMachine 'witches' or 'Wiccans' as they are called, serve in the worship of all nature and because Nature is given a female personification, many might think that they worship Isis. But this is not entirely true. Isis is said to be the incarnation of the feminine principle, just as is astarte, inanna, hecate, diana, and many others. truly, wiccans do not worship any one deity, so he is incorrect on this, however, Isis is divine within nature, and is therefore highly regarded.

this yutz does not know what he's talking about! halloween comes from a KELTIC ritual known as SAMHAIN (pronounced SOW-EN) it has nothing to do with the romans or greeks you dolt!

there is credible evidence showing that civillization moved WEST to east and not the other way round as traditionally taught/halloween's EARLIEST orgins date to the celtic SAMHAIN and is documented extensively in IRELAND

This man is 100% right with the content of this video. The History channel's version is off quite a bit in areas. This man speaks truth. He is also right with Isis but should have taken it further back than that. It actually goes back to Semiramis which Isis, Mary, Ishtar and others are a spinoff of. All things pagan can be traced back to ancient Babylon in some form or another. Even the History channel admits it is 3,000 years old and that is the time of ancient Babylon.

It is silly to believe "The History Channel"'s version of the origins and history of Halloween over someone who has spent his lifetime studying this topic. National Geographic Channel claimed that they discovered the "bones" of Jesus Christ, too. Do you believe that, also, since it was a TV documentary?
