why is it that the energy saving bulb manufactures do not sell these bulbs in a special box that that the bulb should also be returned via a free-post back to the manufacturer? if they continue to sell these , it should be easy and free to recycle.

@RicosDomeTown i appreciate your advice. energy savings is important but to me, its more important to have nice light quality. LEDs do not come close to having the nice light quality that ur standard edison bulbs have. thats just my opinion.

@RicosDomeTown the hell with LEDS. Halogen bulbs (energy efficient incandescents are the way to go) cfls and LEDs are not suitable for homes. ESPECIALLY cfls.

huh, this is ironic products of mercury or mercury in it arn't allowed to be made in the u.s. DUE TO ENVIROMENTAL LAWS!!!! But yet "They save the earth and make it green!!!"

Mercury poisoning, skin cancer, sever itchy scalp, sensitivity to the UV coming from them for many people and not enough scientific medical evidence as to how all energy saving light bulbs will effect everyone's health with long term use in their environment.. The only concerns are that governments are cutting down their national energy consumption

PROS - cheap to run,
long life
CONS - very uncomfortable light,
contains dangerous polutants,
polution also created when during manufacture,
some cause electrical interference.
