Courageous Hashim from Iraq Treated for Head Injuries at Children's Hospital Los Angeles

Hashim is a very thankful 10-year-old boy that comes to us from over 7,500 miles away in Iraq. On Hashim's way home from a family gathering, he suffered severe head and brain injuries from an Improvised Explosive Device.
Our hospital partnered with the Children of War Foundation and Mending Kids International to bring Hashim to our hospital for care.
Our hospital's Division of Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery provided him with the surgeries he needed to prevent infection from spreading in his brain and prepare him to live a healthy life back in his home country.
