Running Windows 7 on a Samsung Q1

Windows Vista always ran a bit slow on my old Samsung Q1 UMPC so I was keen to try Windows 7 on it to see if it was any better. It was and this video takes a quick look at running Windows 7 on a Q1

Did you have to use vista drivers or have to alter/tweak it in any way? or just a straight forward install?

it seems to be working great..in another video though, the user mentioned using vista drivers...

I had to search to get the HID drivers working but other than that it worked fine

Installing Windows 8 on my Wife's old D1U. It already seems to recognize the touchscreen. Wewt!

Shy I remember the old umpc days I need up with the Sony vaio UX but now a days I'm afraid the umpc is dead and tablets like the iPad blow umpc's away

i checked out to get drivers for windows 7 but they re only available for win xp and win vista...

Why are people so quick to yell "Fake"? Win 7 was designed to run on lower spec machines coz Vista was so CPU and graphics demanding and ran like poop on anything under 1600mhz (even if MS say 800Mhz). These days we have netbooks that need to run win7 or else MS will never be able to end support on XP which is planned in 2014, they have until then to tweak Windows 7. It's like MS released Vista as a beta version of windows 7. As soon as longhorn came out Vienna (win 7) was in development.

Does the touchscreen work properly when rotated or when running at higher than native resolution with VGA-out enabled? It doesnt in XP

hey guys, im currently using a samsung r480 which i bought a few days back...2.4ghz and 4gb ram, windows 7.

my problem is that the OS is 32-bit, instead of the 64-bit which i want...samsung didnt give me any dvd drive etc....so is it possible to change my 32-bit os to 64-bit without it? if so, could u please enlighten me? thanks alot!

Please, can you help me? I cannot install the touchscreen. I can use it, but I cannot calibrate it. What is the secret. I tried XP drivers, microsoft native drivers, but tabcal for calibration doesn't work. Please help.
