I have been waiting almost 6 years to finally be able to rebuild this car again.

My step Dad's FORD F-150 spontaneously combusted at 5am on April 1st, 2007 in our driveway and burned down our house. Because no one died my family was not allowed to join in the class action law suit against FORD. (Apparently because there was no death there was not enough money in it for the lawyer). The Fire Chief called to see if the car had a "re-call" and it did. Apparently there was a "minor" defect with the cruise control mechanism.

We had the car for over 8 months and MAGICALLY a "re-call" notice came in the mail TWO DAYS later dated March 31st. Talk about the most shady company in the world!!! Obviously the call from the fire chief sparked FORD to finally send a letter and back-date it.

I understand that there are probably similar stories about all different kinds of cars from every car company. But FORDs inability to take responsibility for this mess left my family homeless for almost a year while we rebuilt the house and that is reason enough for me to never want to own one ever again.

What I remember the most about that day was despite not having a house to live in, my Mom saying she was sorry my car was destroyed because she knew how much I loved it. Isn't she the best Mom in the world? I gave her a hug and said don't worry, the car can be fixed and replaced, but you can't. Love you Mom!
