The Fake Factory is a video design and contemporary media art collective resulting from the collaboration of some of the most active and talented Italian videodesigners. Stefano Fomasi (founder), Andrea Gnesutta (co-founder), Juri Ciani , Mariano Zimmermann, Angelo Bruno, Luigi Critone, Simona Picchi, Francesco Sonnati, Anna&Michele Bigotti, César Paladiòn, Loris Giancola, Danilo Galipò, Elena Dettole, Valentina Mangiameli, Diego Spadaro among others, are the designers who have contributed to implement the factory's visual experiments, giving it the opportunity to develop the new languages and the new opportunities of visual communication connected with new media on many platforms and in various directions.
The Fake Factory nasce all'inizio del terzo millennio come progetto di collaborazione fra differenti video designers italiani. Attorno al nucleo costituito da Stefano Fomasi e Andrea Gnesutta -che dal 2001 hanno iniziato a firmare col nome "FAKE" i progetti comuni di video-design e video-arte- si sono alternati negli anni una serie di designers con capacità, competenze, curiosità e interessi interdisciplinari: videomaking, fotografia, scultura, disegno, illustrazione, musica, danza, performance.
Stefano Fomasi, Andrea Gnesutta, Juri Ciani , Mariano Zimmermann, Angelo Bruno, Luigi Critone, Simona Picchi, Francesco Sonnati, Anna&Michele Bigotti, César Paladiòn, Loris Giancola, Danilo Galipò, Elena Dettole, Valentina Mangiameli, Diego Spadaro -fra gli altri- sono i videodesigners che hanno contribuito in questi anni a realizzare i progetti di The Fake Factory, sviluppando su molte piattaforme e in varie direzioni i nuovi linguaggi e le nuove possibilità della comunicazione visiva legate ai new media.
In pochi anni THE FAKE FACTORY ha partecipato alla realizzazione di diverse centinaia di progetti di videodesign, passando dalla produzione pubblicitaria televisiva alle videoinstallazioni, dalle scenografie video per teatro alle sfilate di moda, alla produzione di DVD multisensoriali, diventando un punto di riferimento italiano e internazionale nella ricerca contemporanea sul video design.
