"I'll Take You Home" would mark Johnny Moore's rise as lead vocalist of The Drifters, and the recording would continue this group's string of marvelous hits peaking at #25 during the fall of 1963.
The Drifters are one of the greatest groups of all time and did some of the best songs ever. Of all they did I've felt since the first time I heard it back in '63 this was and is there best. Never understood why it didn't climb higher on the charts.
the drifters just didn't know they almost single-handed created what we call southern beach music, complete with our own dance-the shag...and the shag is the official dance of both north and south carolina ; )
I just soo love the Drifters, Their songs were sung to bits at our parties and still sung to this day.
