Hello everyone! This is my newest puzzle modification, I hope that you like it.

Some things I will improve next time... I should have spent more time polishing the pieces so that they would look nicer behind the stickers. That nasty gray color... that's just unpolished pieces. I was too eager to finish! I should have spent more time. Also, I should have been more careful cutting the stickers. I was lazy and just cut normal sized stickers in half, but this turns out to be a bit too small! maybe later, I will un-sticker it, polish it, and finally cut new perfect stickers for it.

***How to build it:***
This puzzle is very easy to build. I am not going to make a tutorial on how to do this, but I will explain it here for you. If you take apart a square 1, you will notice that the edges and corners are actually the same, except corners are twice as wide. You will also notice a "track" cut into the pieces, which fits inside the "rail" of the core. Everything above this track is empty, useless space on the piece. To do this modification, you simply remove all of the extra empty space above this track. Take as much as you can without actually cutting down into the track, as this will affect the mechanism.

  • It most likely turns faster because there is less to rub against.

  • @FlipAndLand

But there isn't though... for U and D face turns there is the exact same amount of contact as an unmodded one.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight Yeah, but what about the other 4?

  • @FlipAndLand

There are only 3 possible moves on the square 1: Turning the top, turning the bottom, and flipping the side. So if you're referring to the other ONE possible turn, well the surface area is reduced by about 1/3, but this doesn't make much difference because it's the core which provides the most resistance anyways. The pieces on the top and bottom are quite loose, so "reducing friction" here isn't much of an issue.
