This is the intro joint off of my new album project, "Cry of the Diaspora." This track in particular is influenced heavily by old grooves from artists like Kool & The Gang, George Benson, Herbie Hancock etc. Also, I'd like to give a nod to the many beautiful black women who have raised me, or befriended me or loved me. Y'all don't get enough recognition. Right quick, here is some side info on this production;

- This track is all original music. No loops, samples or any of that. For those who think that hip hop isn't real music..well, stop and listen.

- I used GarageBand on my iPad 2 to record and sequence this track, including the guitar and the vocals (I'm surprised that the iPad mic recorded so clearly)

- Since Aja has doubts, yeah that's me rapping. I know my voice is usually deep, but my vocals weren't working with the music, so I had to rap with a lighter voice. We can call it my alter ego haha.

Lyrics:

Tanea, Regina, Ja'Haan, Lauren, Amber, Aja//
Don't Forget the Beautiful Light, a Rayaa//
Sunshine To Part Clouds (Ease Fears)//
And Wipe Doubts//And These Crowds//
And Their Hate//
I'd Rather Give Thanks to Good God the Great/
We Finally Made It//
And Black is Beautiful is Understated//
But You Better Believe Black is Beautiful, So Join Me and Say It//

    Amen

  • @TheNativeDialect Music is in your soul man. Once you have a connection with it and a passion, it will always come back to you no matter how hard you try to leave it. You're definitely blessed man. We all are. Some of us just don't know it. God bless. Keep real music alive.

  • @Avistant

    It makes life all the more worth it when we are able to affect a change or inspire others, so I feel blessed. This is why I keep doing it, no matter how many times I consider leaving music behind.

  • @TLJthethird
