  • Thanks for posting this. This is a combined university band, yes? It brought back memories of my trumpet days in the Pine Bluff, Arkansas high school band when we played this arrangement in 1967. I hope these young Nationalist Chinese musicians had as much fun playing it as we did!

  • yes, it's a alliance concert by two university bands. we did had a good time! And thank you for the comment! your word means a lot to us. :)

  • Just curious - who is YZU?

  • oh, it's "Yuan Ze University".

and NCU is for "National Central University".

They both located in Taoyuan County, Taiwan.

  • PRECIOSA¡¡¡¡me gusta¡¡¡bravo¡¡¡

  • wow...can you say " I should of tuned before I played"...wow. my ears hurt. but good try. and where are the low brass (euphoniums or baritones) to much trumpet and tuba.. their is no middle. It also sounds like everyone is playing first. but it was still a nice performance just hard on the ears because of the tuning issues. My high school actually played this in competition marching and we didn't have the intonation issues I hear here. but still a good performance.

  • Good performance? I don't think so. The intonation was atrocious. Way worse than "a bit out of tune" as one commenter stated. Check 1:53 as well as 1:20. Also the wrong note (think it was a trombone) at 9:26

  • Having just played this (on trumpet) in a symphony concert band, you really could've used less 1st trumpets and more 2nd and 3rd. :/

PS HOLY CRAP, I'm sorry but horrible trumpet sound at 1:24, that's incredibly flat, a whole step..

  • Nice change at the last second... all the ones I hear end with America.

  • At 1:20, the trumpets aren't in tune at all... It sounded horrible...

But for the rest, good work. I played it also, two years ago with my band at the flûte... and I found it really awesome... I know, it isn't easy at all, so... Well done! :)

  • good

  • Trumpet section= minor 2nd.... I have to prepare this for Kent State's Honors Wind Ensemble.. and I really hope that the intonation is a little better there. Great performance, though! :)

  • They're probably sober! Add jagermeister for perfect trumpet tuning every time, just like mom used to make.

  • and at about 4:00.. flutes! oy.
