I've always felt that religion is just a socially acceptable form of prejudice.
Too many people spend too much time trying to force others to believe what they believe. It sucks when these people are elected into a position of power & use it to force their agenda on others.

From a Brits perspective (I say this a lot) the whole anti-gay thing in America seems kind of stupid. But then again you look and homosexuals had the same problems here only 50 years ago.

While I don't completely disagree with your point here I have a hard time comparing homosexuals to what blacks endured during the civil rights movement. I think if I were a black during that time, the pure hatred of the overall environment wouldn't even compare to what gays endure this day and age. Gays aren't seen as inferior beings as blacks were, they are seen as having an extremely alternative lifestyle by some. So, in my opinion, the comparison between the two is a stretch at best.

@supremescreamer1 I never meant to make a direct comparison, just a general one. Thought he severity is definitely not as bad, the discrimination and homophobia in our country may call for the next civil rights-esque movement
