But - if he was born in Canada, so what? Then a man who was not allowed to be President of the United States was one of the best and most competent Presidents - a great Irony of history. (Buchanan, Grant and Harding were undoubtedly allowed to be President). Arthur was with good reasons the best President between Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt or, if you want, the best "President". Best book: "Gentleman Boss" by Thomas C. Reeves.

Obviously you can't either read nor listen. Arthur was not born in Canada, that was merely the accusation of the day. The fact is, Arthur's father did not become a US citizen until Arthur was 13 years old, thius making Arthur a British subject at birth & NOT a US citizen.

It might behoove you to actually take some time away from your liberal friends and study history with an open mind so the truth in law might be able to actually infiltrate your brain.

OK. But if I agree: the competence and underrating of "President" Arthur leaves unquestionable. This was merely my theme. BTW about reading: is your german as good as my american english?
