Åh jag älskade att titta på längskidor.
Gunde o Wassberg var mina favoriter...minns att min mamma hade bakat nya kanelbullar och jag tog ett par stycken och lade mig på magen o mumsade bullar o kollade på längskidor....det var så mysigt :D

He was the Best of them. He was my childhood favourite, even if he is a swede. I loved watching him on skies. It really was magical. Gunde was the best skier I have ever seen. Beofe Bjorn Dählie began his ski ruling time in Val di Fiemme 1991. The Games in Calgary were Gunde's olympic swansong. He retired having accheived all you can accheive after Val di Fiemme.

"Wow. skiing has changed so much. Like if i had my own skis and used new technique I could probably have won." No, not even close. This is a 50KM race, top finishers at around 2 hrs. For a challenging course, that is a very fast pace, even today you'd have to be an elite level skier. Fast skis are important, but there are many other factors - skill, technique, fitness, fuel, training, strategy, to name a few.

does anyone know if Kevin Brochman skiied in this? He is my coach and he says he skiied with Gunde.

@MrHokieson I've checked results of this race and Kevin Brochman took 47th place. He was solid skier in USA team, so he skiied many, many times with Gunde. Regards for Kevin from Poland :)
