The average American will never sit in a Phantom, which costs more than the average American house. Nor is that person likely to see a Phantom being driven down the street more than once or twice in a lifetime, if at all. But if you are the person Rolls-Royce describes as its target customer -- i.e., you have three, four or five homes; a net worth of around $30 million; and around six other exotic, collectable or ultra-luxury cars .

Early on, Rolls-Royce fashioned itself into a company that built stealthy, fast automobiles. Its engines became renowned for their power and were used in non-automotive applications. In the late 1920s, Rolls power plants held the speed records for land, sea and air.

When you climb into a Phantom and have your feet massaged by its thick, sheepskin floor mats, an experience of total pampering begins. Among the worlds most exclusive automakers, two brands tower above the others: Ferrari for performance, and Rolls-Royce for comfort and luxury.

The Phantom has succeeded in its mission to make sure Rolls-Royce remains the household name for over-the-top automotive luxury. The car, in fact, borders on the sinful and decadent. Think 200 mph in a road car, and you will invariably think of some shrieking, low-slung Italian exotic--all noise and carbon fiber; all edge and sweaty palms. Yet there you are, arrowing along the M92 toward Munich in a 5572-pound luxury limousine with leather on the roof lining, burled walnut on the dash, and Mozart on the CD player. At close to 200 mph. suddenly, you understand exactly what the Phantom is all about.

  • dude, nobody buys a fucking rolls royce phantom unless you got the money to pay up front. Sure people buy expensive cars on leases or loans but not a fucking rolls royce. Maybe a ford mustang or something a little nicer but thats all.

  • @DGKalldayDGK damn someone struck your poor nerves lol.

  • used to have one of these at work..a customers...very opulant..$1.2 million Oz dollars new here in Australia...only 10 were inported im told...so at 250,000 itsa bargin one asumes...check out the weighted hub caps that stay RR upright all the time when the car is moving and the dual heated umbrella holders ressesed in each rear door...v12 fast and quite,...bloody big and hell long to park at the shops though! lol

  • Nice car but when you buy a car like a RR, Bently, Maybach, et. al., wouldn't you rather have an interior other than the beige, gray, or black that just about every single other car on the planet comes with? Why not get something different - afterall - this is a car that can be completely customized.

  • wow, guess by their description even warren buffet can't get one! (he lives in a 35,000$ house he built in the 50's)

  • no mms yo tengo uno d esos...bno mi papa

  • I like it!

  • wtf? my cousin got a limo cheaper than that! HAHA

  • @abdul456 Clearly bull shit... you are on youtube asking how much the new thing costs when you can google it... chill out with the fake shit... just get that cell phone paid, take the girl out to subway, and enjoy life as it is... being rich is much more stressful than being a middle class.

  • Now you can get a 2006 with only 4,000 miles for $160,000 on cars.com. Or you can get an older one for cheaper. You don't have to be super rich to drive these cars people. All you have to do is make six figures a year and you can afford it.
