  • mikecesario71 - I had actually written an erudite rebuttal to your comment, but I've decided that it didn't properly convey my sentinments. This is much better -

    You are a tit.

  • @mikecesario71 This would make sense if the "washed and trained" masses in pro road racing never had serious crashes. I've been in 2 LeMons races (Joliet 2010 & 2011), and despite average driver experience level, they've been quite safe for a few reasons, including that cars are slower, production vehicles with full cages, plus drivers are heavily discouraged from aggressive driving. The safety workers actually complimented us last race for being so safe and careful around situations like this.

  • Why didn't the Camaro driver ROLL BACKWARDS and off the track?

  • Also worth noting that the organization took immediate notice and one of the new safety rules for 2012 is that a cutoff switch must be in reach of the driver, and seats must be one piece.

If you're rich enough to go racing with the "washed and trained" please go ahead and do so.

  • WOW...that was a HARD hit.....damm

  • HOLY SHIT

  • @333Racers - another example of the dumbing down of America.

  • @omgwatful The Kill switch should have NEVER been mounted there. That car should never passed tech.Hope the Guy I hit is OK, I am very sore and lucky to be alive.I hope they reposition the Kill switch in the future so this does not happen again.

  • @Travisgt45 : Camaro driver jammed on the brakes to avoid a car ahead of him but still tapped the car. This tripped the master power kill switch that was mounted on the front of the Camaro. Hard braking meant the Camaro had no momentum after the switch was tripped. The car was completely dead in the water. It was an edge-case situation, not a matter of someone "not using his head."

  • @brennanpaterson ...Glad the driver is OK, but why in the hell is the car parked in the middle of the track? Cars that are breaking down while on track do not stop on a dime! There is usually time to steer the car off track into a safe position. This could have been prevented if the driver in the Camaro was using his head.
