FMSA Office Sustainable Renovation + Retrofitting Project

Sustainability underpins all FMSA buildings, ours included.

FMSA is currently in the process of designing a major retrofit and renovation of our North Melbourne office, 182 Capel Street.

As building owners ,architects, interior designers and construction managers we have a unique focus upon the results expected from our project. FMSA are aiming for a cost effective carbon reduction, demonstrating good choices made as consumers and creators of office space within a sustainable workplace culture. It is intended that our building and practice will be audited independently to benchmark our achievements.

As part of this excercise we are signatories to The City of Melbourne 1200 Buildings initiative to reduce carbon emissions. We have also been awarded a Green Building Fund grant to upgrade the environmental efficiency of our own office as part of this project.

This animation gives an insight into the works to be done at 182C and the process in which we have approached this task.

Sustainability has long been an integral part of the FMSA approach. As a leader in the implementation of ESD principles, FMSA has received many awards including the 2008 United Nations Association Green Building Award for the St Leonards Sustainability Centre.

FMSA Director Greg Anson presented the 182 Capel Street project at the IQPC Retrofitting Established Buildings Conference theld in Melbourne in October 2010.
