That setting came from _The Northern Fiddler_, which is fairly hard to find a copy of. I can't remember which player it came from, most likely Johnny Doherty

This is a gdae (like an octave mandolin) tuned tenor. The prices are all over the map, they can be found from the 30s and modern days too

It's from an english builder named Patrick Arbuthnot. He calls them "chanticleer"

it's a GDAE tenor guitar, but with a capo on the 5th fret that covers only the top 3 strings. so it's (G)GDA, effectively
