oh, the harsh cut is hard to watch...nerverless, one of my favorite movie endings of all time. the way daniel holt, now a free man, get accepted as such from jake...after all they went through together...and all shown with a simple handshake, saying the name his mother gave him...not only daniel holt got recognized as a free, equal man in this scene, so does jake roedel. he freed his mind.

Hoenstly I think this scene with Pitts was pretty powerful. You got a guy who has lost his home,the war, and reason for living. I hated Pitts most of the movie but I couldn't help but feel bad for him.
