In this episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit!, the comedy duo take on "the video game industry's worst nightmare" Jack Thompson, and hand a 9-year-old boy an AR-15 rifle to see if anyone dies.

  • Thompson is an idiot. I'm a paramedic and I'm desensitized to violence. Does that make me some sick, degenerate sociopath? Of course not. Just because I'm used to seeing people leak pints of blood doesn't mean I'm going to walk into a mall with an assault rifle and hose window shoppers. If he thinks that, he must also believe that literature depicting violence will influence the actions of the reader. Ban all books that contain violence!...Like the Bible.

  • Is that A PS3 in Jack Thombson's house? 6:49

Oh thats just his blue-ray player.

  • People who commit terrible crimes are usually born evil, tv, or games have not made them this way. Altho games with an 18 above cert on them should not be played by younger kids as not to give them nightmares. But kids who do play these games and can stomach them are not gunna end up on some killing spree in years to come.

  • There is more people who have not played video games that kills others than those who play video games and kill others.. It should be illegal to not play violent video games.

    (Just using their "logic"..)

  • 9:39 - Xbox controller on chair. Ha

  • Where is the kid from? I don't know the accent.

  • "..65% of Americans want Congress to pass a law to prohibit the sale of Mature-rated games to kids."

Here in the UK, it's a criminal offense to sell any medium with an age rating to somebody below that age, under the Video Recordings Act 2010. However it is still legal for a parent to buy age-rated content on behalf of their child.

Some people in the UK keep spewing BS about games harming kids and how they shouldn't have access at all. Such laws don't solve the problems these people perceive.

  • The prescription drugs kids are taking has nothing to do with it. Nothing!!

  • @HellsMaverick Thumbs up for your last line, my friend!

  • I started playing Grand Theft Auto when i was ten and i am fine, ive killed thousands of people in the game, and i still have a hard time shooting coyotes and squirrels, its not the video games that are the fucking problem, its the retards playing them and becoming violent that are.

  • i have gottenused to seing my own blood. since some bitch acused me of snithing ive been jumped 3 times, does this make me violent? well, yeah. but only to the people acting violent towards me. and here is the funny part, i have been playing violent video games for a long time. and even after 2 hours of daily grand theft auto. did not fight back the first time i got jumped. i usedthe "diplomatic sulution" and ended up with a broken rib. i wish video games made people violent, but they dont

  • If video games increased violence we would have a lot more crime.
