Pacific Islanders centre back Seilala Mapusua, interviewer extraordinaire; chats to Sunia Koto about the happenings behind the scenes whilst training in France for the match on Saturday 15th November with France.
France v Pacific Islanders Sat 15 Nov:
O for awesome!
The phrase "O for awesome!" was made famous by Samoan boxer David Tua.
This is exactly what comes to mind when we look further into the possiblities of the upcoming match with France.
Les Tricolors have maintained their winning backline from last week - going for continuity and counting on their structured back play to win the contest amongst the backs, they believe the PI team will be too" loose" in the backline and have not had enough time together to deliver the type of continual hammer blows that will break through Les Bleus.
They know that the PI team have a heavy pack totally unintimidated and champing at the bit to get stuck in.
Enter the true Pacific Islanders backline - the top try scorer in France last year has now joined the team - winger Napolioni Nalaga. The present top scorer is the other PI wing Vilimoni Delasau!
Up to eight of the team play in France, and will know exactly how to match Les Coqs on Sat.
10 changes have been made to the team since last week - these boys do not want to go home empty handed - everything will rest on this game and the manner in which it will be played - expect a hard, hard, match with some exciting finishes by the entire PI team.
Pacific Islanders by 12 points!
