A recent CRTC decision found in favour or usage-based billing - that's paying per minute to access your internet. The CRTC thinks it's a good idea. But Industry Minister Tony Clement doesn't agree. Is your Facebook habit about to get a whole lot more expensive?

  • Mirko is just full of shit. Bell has horrible hypocritical business tactics. Open up the competition in Canada, BELL does NOT understand the value of the internet! DOWN WITH BELL!!! DOWN!!!!

  • They don't even use 25% of 25 gigs?? I find that VERY hard to believe!!!

But brings up a great question.... Rollover... If your not using 100% of your allotment, why aren't your gigs rolling over to the next month???... Anyone care to answer that one?

  • Lets not forget the Government subsidies that go directly TO Bell....

    No more telco subsidies!!!

  • Fairness.... LMAO!

You mean, one structure that all companies follow, Mr Bib.. Right?

COMMUNIST! What happened to competitiveness?? The guy is just a profit rapist... Nothing more...

  • The one point I'm not hearing at all... the Internet has become a social network, a commincations network, an "information highway". How on earth could we as Canadians allow metering on our Social Network! Meter communication! Not to mention the CRTC's conflict of interest approach to what we should do with UBB as in asking Bell and Rogers what's best for consumers...

  • FML im here because of a stupid micro assignment

  • AT LEAST***

  • I NEED TO COME UP WITH AT 4 MICROECONOMIC THEORIES THAT APPLYS TO THIS CASE (I.E. DUOPOLY, PRICE DISCRIMINATION, ETC) FOR SCHOOL....

    PLEASE HELP ME OUT

  • You have reason behind what you are saying. Unfortunately, youtube comments are too short for me to respond with anything interesting. Let's just agree that unlimited must remain in Canada as an option.

  • @earwigisbent You can't just propose "50-60 dollars and unlimited" -- there has to be a speed component too. It's possible to get 2Mbps and unlimited (from an unnamed ISP) but for $50-60 monthly that's a huge rip-off.

Also $30 for 60GB is also not good value when the internet is growing exponentially every year. If there must be an account with a cap, it should be minimum 250GB/mth for ~$35.
