See, I love that about Reznor.
He's him. He's never changed. not his music, nor himself just to fit in. You see Manson, look at him.. he trys to hard to fit in to have an image. and Trent is just himself. always has, always will be. He does his music for him. no one else. he's not trying to impress anyone. Which makes his music good and which is why i idolize him completely. :)
-aw.

Yeah, lets see youtube / music industry deny us these tracks! Stupid fucks.
Trent and a few other musicians understand the growing movement. He throws us free music and we love him for it. That love and respect makes me go out and purchase his music.

@AvidWave - lol , so my pre reznor mixes that sound extremely close to what reznor helped him produce made a big difference ? , i fail to see the huge difference really..
although with reznor helping produce mansons albums did generate some attention to manson that otherwise may have not happened

so sorry, but this reminds me too much of mike patton, king for a day fool for a lifetime....10 years late.

Never wait for a change of musical genius just know if you appreciate, it will take you with its growth

Actually it´s not that he didn´t change. He was sucked into his depressed image that his fans and the media and eventually he identified himself with. The remarkable thing is, that he was able to realize that, otherwise he would be dead. So in a way he never changed his way of always changing. He was brave enough to get rid of an image which gave him security, but instead embraced the unknown. Lots of his old fans don´t get that and still wait for the return of the "90s-Trent".

This is punk rock as it gets

I love the lyrics of this song. Bitingly cynical and absolutely awesome. I'm sure everyone has at least one person they could dedicate this song too. I sure as hell do.

I love and envy Reznor but to say that that Trent doesnt care or doesnt try to control his image would be a false statement. In fact thats how Trent created his image was by controlling it so closely, this was best stated in the NIN documentary. Manson just exploited and let his image spread like wildfire, that's the key difference between the two.

Hell yeah! I feel ya.

@overdoseoncandy i like it when musicians fit in. it means they want to stay actual, to experiment with music, to develop themselves. that makes a good musician, don't you think?

@mechanicalmonsters It was recorded in 2009 for the NINJA 2009 tour sampler. It has been a song he's played at his past shows, it was supposed to be on "With Teeth".
This is an older song, was it just recently studio recorded?

No, it wasn't just released until March 09.

This isn't a new song. Trent used to perform this song @ Nine Inch Nails shows. So it was probably recorded awhile back, but released in March of 2009. My question was rather it was recorded recently, not released.

And that's what I mean: It was recorded in 2005 but it wasn't released until 2009.
