  • "History...more assumptions there than religion." But an oliver stone film is more reliable?

  • @wenwu, bagua relies on getting behind your opponent. Its not that the taiji practitioner is turning his back.

  • twisting the viens+tree walkers.

  • hmmmm

it is hard to know what to make of this clip, for sure it is very smooth and flowing, but there is not much martial intent in the movments and there is a lot of turn away from the opponent,

nice drill for flowing, i would be interesting to see these gentlemen doing a similar drill trying to apply the techniques

  • don't listen to the peanut gallery, this is great and soft as silk. i assure u all, try the hardest angry yang fist u got on these dudes and ull be flat on ur ass, like "wtf"!

  • History -- yeah that's a reliable subject; more assumptions there then religion

  • @OctoBox need to read more chinese history. Warring states for hundreds of years, hand to hand combat was a day to day think in the life of the chinese in a way westerners history does not understand

  • @OctoBoxsorry but this is only looking gracefull... tkae this into account please, if you and grab or stike your opponent how do you deffeat him, further more if every time you try you end up on your back or you get struck hard then what is a good counter method. warriors used this very practicaly in battle and lived. why? because the would out menuver their opponent and kill them with easy.. good example is the movie troy the hero deflects the shield then spins around his opponent to stab him.

  • Everything is so soft and agreeing. Like a dance -- to bad combat has zero consequences. A dance style that has striking motions is still a dance; there are no gentle men in combat only violent men. This looks mystical magical and no war in history was fought or won without a heavy element of pragmatism.

It is very graceful; generals and their sons would learn this, they never saw combat either. Whereas the soldiers spent all day swinging sword, spear, war hammer -- no silk pj's.
