this is my final project for ASL one. it is a self introduction. i am hearing, and this is my first semester taking ASL. when i was a kid, i taught myself how to finger spell, and a dozen or so basic signs, but nothing really more than that. i'm lucky to go to a university with a good ASL program, where we learn ASL and NOT Signed English. One of the reasons I never pursued ASL further was at the time I knew that Deaf people signed differently than in the books I could find, but I didn't know how to find resources to learn ASL, or even what it was called (this was before we had the internet).

I know there are some mistakes and my hands go off screen sometimes, but because of the way the sun was hitting my room, i had to turn the webcam so to avoid the whitewash of the sunglare. if i could see the screen i would have kept my hands within the visible space. i think the meaning should be well-enough maintained, insofar as my teacher understands the assignment. anyone else--i'm sorry if anything is unclear! also, from the angle, "again" and "arrive" might appear to be the same sign, but i am definitely signing them differently
