@thanksbetotap He only did that on the Green album. Did you listen to Maladroit? It's full of shredding.
(See Dope Nose, Fall Together) Even Make Believe had some pretty awesome solos. He may of gone away from it recently, but it still shows he can solo. Maybe listen to them and stop being one of "those" Weezer fans who think everything after Pinkerton is awful. Thank you.

@thanksbetotap Sometimes less is more... they don't need to shred for 1:20 seconds... listen to the solo in "in the garage" by weezer... it is one of their best and it sounds nothing like their melody throughout the song i think you'll enjoy it.

The only album where he repeated the melody for the guitar solo was Green. Both Maladroit and Make Believe have some pretty good solos.
