I thought he did a fantastic job of explaining how the bass came about and how it works. The playing wasn't half bad either. 8)

"you can buy one of these, if you dont mind selling youre car!" :D:D that is so true, the bass costs about 8000 :D

@squirrelxk2 I believe Floyd Rose has a bridge for this to quickly change between tunings a commercial product but correct me if im wrong

hes a funny guy!

@bigweedtw Well the entire point of the hyperbass was that it was developed in conjunction with Manring himself, with a particularly advanced capacity to move between alternate tunings. I think that's what's particularly unique about the instrument, other than the fact that it has a ridiculously extended fretboard, is fretless, and has an unbelievably sexy design.

He should record a track of him just tuning his bass, so cool!!!!

I want a Glockenklang cabinet. Just 'cause.

One thing he doesn't mention in this video (at least as far as I could tell; the man just CANNOT STOP PLAYING- and if I had a Zon bass I reckon I 'd be the same) is the unique use of transducers in the neck and body of the bass to pick up sounds that the electromagnetic pickups can't. It's well worth looking into.

he should make songs involving tuning the guitar so that it'd be easier to play his main songs kinda like Selene
this is the first time i've actually enjoyed watching someone tune :)

I'm ready to get bombarded with hate, but was anyone else waiting for him to talk more about the technical features of the bass? The majority of it was him tuning, which sounded great, but a video titled, "Michael Manring explains the Hyperbass," sort of implies an explanation. Unless he was communicating through his tunings, I was disappointed.
