As soon as I get some Dosh I will get an upgrade for the Brakes on Jenny the Surly.

That is pretty fast,I just dont trust the brakes to stop my Bike. I will have to get better ones, the Tectro Oryx Cantilevers on my Surly LHT are not great. Otherwise the perfect Touring Bike.
I have been doing the odd 55KM Spins in the Countryside to see how it handles with just my needs for the day with a Cycling group. It would be a different matter with a full Camping load coming down steep Hills you need good brakes.

@sunnyjoe66 Yeah, loaded touring bikes can really tax the brakes. I'm a big fan of Avid mechanical disc brakes on touring bikes. Our road bikes are running dual pivot Dura-Ace or Ultegra calipers. They have great stopping power and modulation.

What speed are you going at,If I am tearing down a Hillside it is usually around 44KM up to 50KM at most . The Bike will go faster but it is dangerous.

@sunnyjoe66 That descent's usually good for about 40 miles per hour (65 kmph) coming out of the bottom curves. We can maintain high 30's through most of the technical parts. I should have a video pretty soon of a crazy-steep hill near here that's good for 60mph (96.7 kmph)
