2012 Camaro ZL1 laps Nürburgring in 7:41:27

GM's North American president, Mark Reuss, has confirmed a Nürburgring-Nordschleife lap time of 7 minutes and 41.27 seconds for the 2012 Camaro ZL1.
That time on the full-length, 20.832 km (12.944 miles), of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit beats out such track performers as the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and the BMW M3 GTS - putting the ZL1 in solid supercar territory. (Most lap times are measured on the 20.6 km stretch of the track, stopping 200 meters short of the end.)
The test, though, was conducted by GM and not independently. The time was set by GM's own test driver Aaron Link.

@combatzonevideo Sorry buddy, the ZL1 is a Camaro which is an American brand but it is really made in Canada at the Oshawa plant.... do your homework :)

WOW...this lap was awesome :) i've got to be honest - after watching Jim Mero's ferociousness with the ZR1 vettes - would love to see how he'd handle this beast llloll!

@tytanfamily no the camaro is not made in canada,it's made in america! in detroit mich.were GM is, it's not a canadian muscle car. i think you mean it's assembeld or put toghether in canada not made in canada. cheverolet ,ford,chrysler not canadian sorry but thanks for putting toghether and it's still cheaper to buy one in the u.s.! boy gm is really screwin you guys

Has any Production Mustang beat 8 minutes here. I can't find any times, but ford has been testing here for years and has posted their Focus lap times but no mustangs. I don't care about saleen. The BOSS laguna Seca is about same price as this car and has no back seats or maybe times from a GT500
