The Rest of the Story

Susan Merkle tells us her inspirational story.

This is a very small synopsis of my personal story with regards to the struggle with alcoholism and drug addiction I experienced...the pain and the shame of the jam I found myself in. But there is rewarding results from and a glorious life after thus...The Rest of The Story!

People mistakenly assume that experiencing failure makes YOU become a failure. They equate the verb with the noun. (In other words, failing means you're a failure.) Nothing could be further from the Truth! If you don't believe me...see the life stories of Abraham Lincoln who failed several times before becoming President, Winston Churchill who failed the 6th grade and was defeated in every election for public office before becoming Prime Minister, Thomas Edison's teachers said he was "too stupid to learn anything" and the stories go on and on...including mine! Failure is not in falling down, it is in our inability sometimes to get up again! And often, we just need God's help in order to do that.
