Why haven't they been able to recover a single original good quality version of this documentary?

@jamesbrownintown Just to get back to you. Yorkshire Television produced the show and this is in fact a pre-production copy. Hence the TCR: marks being present. It was taken out of the Yorkshire Television by an employee who subsequently shared it with likeminded individuals, one of which anonymously digitised it and eventually it ended up on Video Google.

The original show was due to air in the US in 1994. But there was pressure put on the networks to not air it.

Then the copies disappeared.

They would have inherited the Yorkshire Television archives.
