Mulle Muräna i hans nya 430 liters tank. Gymnothorax tile 3, Fresh water moray eel

(Text in English follows)När Mulle är hungrig visar han det genom att komma ut ur sina bo-hålor och simma runt i akvariet så fort vi kommer in i rummet.

Well, we feed our Moray eel with fresh herring and he seems to like it.
He stopped to eat a while ago, for several month´s and didnt start to eat again until we bought him a bigger aquarium.
After we put him in the bigger aquarium it only took 4 days before he started to eat.
Now we keep him in a 430 litres tank.
People told us that a good benchmark is that you should keep a moray eel in a tank thats 2,5 X the length of the eel.
They were right about that!!
The salinity we keep at SG 1.003 to 1.005.

Well you are probobly right about that, but are you shore about that, when we talk about Gymnothorax Tile? Aren´t they born in rivers and then they emigrates to salt water, or is that just a myth?

how long is it? and i just got one like a month ago and hes eating pretty good. cant you give me any tips on how to keep mine strong and healthy like yours?

He´s about 60 cm long.

Well dont feed him with filet's only. Give him whole fish with intestinal and bone, brain etc. he needs it all!

If hi refuses to eat dont get paniced, our Moray stopped to eat for 6 month´s once!!!! We tried everything to get him started again but nothing helped. But one day he just took the fish like nothing happened.

The whole it's gotta live in brackish water thing is bull shit. Iv had mine in freshwater for over a year since I got him and he is fine eats like a pig and keeps on growing

morray eels are not freshwater or brackishwater fish, thats just a myth. they can wander up in small rivers to catch fish and crayfish,but they all are real saltwaterfish in the long run,.and need sltwater to really really thrive and be healthy,.

Well it probably depends on if you are intrested in moray eels or not.

If you are you have the chans to see a Gymnothorax tile, freshwater moray eel in a brackish water aqarium.

If you wants some more action i can recommend you to look at the video "Gymnothorax tile 4". But so you dont get dissapointed, its still just a fish swimming around in a aquarium.
